PDTV
PDTV stands for Pure Digital Television and represents a show that has been captured from stand definition digital television source. Common resolutions found are around 512×384 if fullscreen and 640×352 if widescreen.
DVB
DVB stands for Digital Video Broadcast and is also a show that has been captured from a standard definition digital television source. Common resolutions found are around 512×384 if fullscreen and 640×352 if widescreen.
HDTV
HDTV shows have been captured using a high definition source. It is important to note that although many HDTV shows are captured in high definition they can still be the same resolution as other capture methods however the quality of the picture is far superior. Like other methods the common resolutions found are around 512×384 if fullscreen and 640×352 if widescreen.
Many shows are also available in high resolution files as well with resolutions like 960×528 (540p), 1280×720. These can be identified by the words “720″ or “HR” in the file name. These high resolution versions are about twice the size of the normal resolution versions.
