How to Download TV and Movies from the Internet

Download Movies

One of the main reasons you may have found your way to this site is to download the latest movies for free using BitTorrent. Broadband internet connections have made it possible for people all around the world to share and download movies for free across the internet.

Movie downloads are available in many different formats and the clue to each format is the name of the file itself. A key to the codes used when you download movies and what they mean can be found on our Movie Release Formats.

It is also important to before you download movies to check the quality of the release. The quality of DVD Rips and DVD Screeners is normally always very high but the quality of Cams, Telesync, Screens and R5 movies can vary dramatically. Quite often there is a few different versions available for you to download and you have to decide which one to get.

You can work out what movies are worth downloading using the websites on our Movie Download Resources page. There is nothing worse wasting your download on a movie you are too lazy to check and you find out it is not watchable and the sound is terrible.

To Download movies with BitTorrent you will need to find it at one of the private Members BitTorrent Sites or a Public BitTorrent Site.

Quite often a movie download will not include a single file but will include a collection of archive files.  These files collectively contain the file you wanted. Typically these archives are in the WinRar format so in this case you will need Winrar to extract the files.

You can get Winrar at Rar Soft and you can view this good Winrar tutorial for showing you how extract your file from Winrar archive files.

Alternatively a great tutorial to read on Winrar can be found at http://users.pandora.be/soulmaniacs/winrar.html#section_06

Of course once you download movies you need to be able to watch it and that means installing a codec. You can read more about that at our Divx and Xvid Codecs section which covers how you can view the file on your computer or alternatively how to watch it on your lounge room tv.
